Let us discuss Exercise 1 in the topic Content Selection (Handout 5b).

  1. On seeing, this program’s aim, it is the end product of program.
    Overall, program objectives cover all aspects of curriculum and planned activities are benefit for the students and the school. Moreover, these graduates can work in practice area (Bank) and are recognized by the faculty.

    Overall viewing the program learning outcomes, I would like to change the action verbs of objectives No4, 5, 7
    No.4.Apply issues surrounding the policies, laws, and standards in banking and finance.

    No.5. Practice in Islamic bank and capital market operations by applying the knowledge of Islamic funds and capital market operations.

    No.7. Demonstrate critical thinking on banking in light of Islamic physiology and approach to banking and finance.

  2. From my perspective about the program’s aim overall cover all aspects of curriculum and planned activities are benefit for the students and the school. They can practice at the practical area (Bank) which recognized by the faculty and used it when they graduated.

    No.5. Appreciate the Islamic bank and capital market operations by applying the knowledge of Islamic funds and capital market operations.
    No 6. Provide and train students the technique and instruments used in Islamic bank

    No.7. Indentify the technique of critical thinking on banking in light of Islamic physiology and approach to banking and finance.

  3. After viewing, I would like to do the following changes.

    Program aim:

    To produce high caliber professionals with the necessary technical skills and knowledge in Islamic
    finance to work in financial institution and banks

    (I would like to change 1,4, 5 and 6 of the program objective)

    1) To provide students with the fundamental requirements of business education.
    4) To train to determine issues surrounding the policies, law and standards in Islamic banking and finance.
    5) To train students in Islamic funds and capital market operations.
    6) To introduce students to instruments and techniques used in the Islamic banking.

    Program learning outcome:
    At the end of the program, the students will be able to
    (I would like also to change 1,4,5 and 6)

  4. Very plausible recommendations. For those people who recommended the use of the verb "identify", do you actually mean they only need to go as far as identifying only? So you think they need to cover this area is only to the "recall" or "knowledge" level?

  5. To be an Islamic business employee, the students need to learn on the concept of ‘Mudarabah’ which teach on the fundamental of Islamic business and law related it. This is supposed to be written in the programme aim, objectives and outcomes of “Diploma in Islamic Banking”

    Programme Aim:
    To produce graduates who are able to carry out duties as financial institution or banks using Islamic principles and laws.

    Programme objectives
    The program objectives to:
    1.Provide the students with understanding of essential knowledge of Islamic business “Mudarabah”;
    2.Provide an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of Islamic banking and finance;
    3.Provide the students with mastery of essential Islamic business knowledge, principles, laws and competencies in Islamic banking and finance;
    4.Discuss issues surrounding the Islamic policies, laws and standards in banking and finance;
    5.Explain Islamic business fundamentals and capital market operations in banking and finance;
    6.Train students to apply the Islamic business principles, instruments and techniques used in the Islamic banking and finance according to Islamic law;
    7.Encourage students to critically reflect on practices in light of Islamic philosophy and law and also approach to Islamic banking and finance.

    Program Learning Outcomes
    At the end of the programme, students should be able to:
    1.Demonstrate understanding of essential knowledge of Islamic business “Mudarabah”;

    -education technology
    -library resources and services
    -academic policy
    -faculty of staff union contracts
    -institution budget

    Similarly,important signals to faculty that is curriculum design in the context of;
    -nursing and education paradigms
    organization of nursing education throughout a state or province
    -competition from other schools
    -graduates' success rates on licensure or registration exams
    -workforce
    -provisionof health care
